58 Different Watercolour Papers Tested, quick vie

During the last weeks i prepared and painted the same test on 58 different watercolour papers.

Before starting commenting these tests (I did Arches and Canson Héritage yet), i wanted my readers to have the opportunity to analyse themselves these test and comment them.

As i think, that selecting a watercolour paper, is the most important choice to make before starting papers. Do you know that different brands of watercolour paint, with the same pigment, can behave different on one paper ?

Some papers really absorbs a lot of water, making loose and fluid painting nearly impossible on this support, but for fine detailed work it's very nice ... 

If you want to lift, the paper choice is very important. It can be hard, even with non staining colour, to lift paint on some papers ...

Vue Saint Cado avec Sennelier L'Aquarelle

J'ai testé 7 couleurs de Sennelier l'Aquarelle sur du Fabriano Artistique Grain Fin 300g cette vue sur un des lieu les plus touristiques du Morbihan.

L'aquarelle fait 48cm x 55 cm

Les Couleurs utilisées sont :

• Bleu Indanthrène
• Jaune Sophie
• Magenta Permanent
• Quinacridone Rouge
• Orange Sennelier
• Laque de Garence Rose
• Terre de Sienne Brulée

I tested 7 colours from Sennelier L'Aquarelle to paint this vue of one of the most touristic sites in Morbihan (Gallic for lettle sea) of the isle of Saint Cado in south Brittany, France.

The painting mesures 55 x 48 cm

I'm préparing a very big test on my blog with the 98 colours of L'Aquarelle de Sennelier (French Top Brand used by the impressionists and famous painters as Manet, Picasso ...)

I did appreciate a lot the tests that did Mandy van Mandy Van Goeije in 5 youtube movies.
